How many meal vouchers can I use per day?

Since January 1^st, 2024, Luxembourg legislation limits the use of meal vouchers to five vouchers per day. The maximum amount depends on the value of your vouchers.

What happens if I don't use all my balance in one day?

The unused balance of your meal vouchers is automatically carried over to the following days. You do not lose the remaining amount; it remains available until the end of the vouchers' validity (1 year from the loading date).

Example:

• You receive 18 meal vouchers worth 15€ each month, totaling 270€/month

• Your daily limit is 5 vouchers (5x15€), which is 75€

• You use in the same month of loading

• 60€ on the first day of the month
• 50€ on the 10th day of the month
• 20€ on the 15th day of the month
• 70€ on the 20th day of the month

 This results in a used amount of 200€, and the remaining balance of 70€ (270€ - 200€ = 70€) is carried over to the next month.

What happens if I try to use more than my daily limit?

If you attempt to use more than your authorized daily limit of 5 vouchers per day, the transaction will be declined. You must adhere to the daily limit of 5 vouchers per day.

Can the value of my meal vouchers change?

Yes, the value of meal vouchers can vary depending on your employer's policies. The higher the value, the more you can spend daily. Since the maximum value is 15€ per voucher, the maximum daily limit will be 75€ (5 vouchers at 15€).
